Dev Log 4 - Learning Reflection: how will this prepare me for next semester?
I was able to prepare for the next semester by getting a head start in making basic implementation for my team's game within Unity. I had designed the game in its most basic elements with its most basic implementation as a guideline as to what I will have to design next semester so I could better iterate with designs and improve on it by the time next semester finishes.
For the demo that was made the implementations I did were creating a basic platformer player movement system but I found a free player controller online that sped this process up and I have a finished movement system. The next was a basic VTuber reaction system where if the player gets to the end of the level the image will change to positive and if the player dies it will change to negative. The final system was a basic chat reaction system where popups would appear resembling viewers commenting on a live stream
Creating a schedule based on work I will have to do next semester has also helped as I am very deadline and setting those for myself will assist in when I need to get stuff done.

Hello Lucy!
It's great to hear the amount of progress your team is making! It's great to hear that you've figured out the team structure and plan moving forward. Setting deadlines and sticking to it is important for getting a game done.
Hello!
The VTuber reaction system and chat reaction system sound like innovative additions, adding a dynamic and interactive element to the game! Also, creating a schedule based on upcoming work and setting deadlines for yourself reflects useful time management skills.
You were very fast in getting a prototype ready. I can only imagine what your team schedule looks like at this type of pace. Though, you mention that you still need to make a schedule - is it a personal one? Or has your team not made a schedule yet? Regardless, I agree that having those deadlines will really help push to complete the game.
Hi Lucy!
That's awesome that you were able to get a head start on the basic implementation of your project! I remember that you were discussing what you had done with the project in the last class. I can't wait to see how it turns out in the end! It seems very exciting!
Hi Lucy!
Envious of the progress your teams made with your proof of concept. Taking advantage of resources online, like a player controller, is something we've been doing with ours, and it's been working great.
I'm very curious to see how this VTuber reaction system. Maybe it sounds more complex than it actually is, but I'd love to see some sort of adaptive mechanism for expressing player performance, kind of like the Doomguy's face in Doom
Best of luck to you and your team!
